As the Flagler County School's Character Education Storyteller, Shirley
has told stories to over eighty individual classes each year since 1999.

In May of 2003 Shirley was recognized for her "work" as a Storyteller with the
Character Education for Responsible Students (C.A.R.S.) Program in the
Flagler County School District.

 PURPOSE OF WORKSHOPS:

  1. Discuss character education traits.
  2. Discuss stories which relate to character education:
    • Where to find them.
    • How to use them.
  3. Discuss storytelling:
    • Props and how to use them.
  4. How to learn stories.
  5. Listen to some stories.
  6. Provide a user friendly appendix.
